Yes! I’ve read every single book and short story and an always impatiently waiting on the next one. I’ve watched both movies multiple times even though I was deeply disappointed when it was announced that Tom Cruise would play Reacher. Heading all these books, I’ve always pictured him as a lighter hair version of Steven Seagull. I mean the movies were still great but the wish it had been anyone other than Tom Cruise-just not a fan.
I’m with you. For one thing, Reachers height has been a huge part of his story… even in one novel where it was, for the first time, not an asset! To hire a 5’ 7” actor to play someone whose size is an actual “character” in the story was silly.
I cannot wait! I have read them all! Like Neg, I cannot see Tom Cruise as the tall Reacher! What were they thinking?? To this day, I will not watch the movies till they get someone like Reacher!
i agree with above comments . For those people old enough to remember Clint Walker he would have made a perfect J Reacher
I would have picked someone taller and built like a NFL tight end, rather than Tom Cruise, but he does an admirable job, nevertheless. He’s pretty scary saying this: Jack Reacher: “You think I’m a hero? I am not a hero. I’m a drifter with nothing to lose. Now you killed that girl to put me in a frame. I mean to beat you to death and drink your blood from a boot. Now, this is how it’s gonna work. You’re gonna give me the address and I’ll be along when I am damn good and ready. If she doesn’t answer the phone when I call this number, if I even think you’ve hurt her, I disappear. And if you’re smart, that scares you, because I’m in your blind spot and I have nothing better to do.”
I’ve read every book and short story and watch the movies on Blu Ray more than once. Can’t wait!
I fully agree with Neg; I refuse to watch anything, Tom Cruise! Reacher has repeatedly been described as 6’5″ blond with a European style haircut. Holliwerid decided to make a lilliputian the main character. I tried to watch the first movie but could not make it through.
On a side note, I wish the character (Reacher) would evolve. While I enjoy the stories, they are the same story with different characters.
1) Reacher drifts into town
2) Reacher finds trouble
3) Amazingly the police with all their resources decide to forgo those resources and use a former MP to solve the
problem
4) Reacher, a drifter, has an unnecessary and gratuitous sex scene with the hot female.
5) Reacher saves the day and moves on to the next town.
Why won’t someone say when the NORMAL print paperback will be available?
